2019 HOURS OF OPERATION CHANGES |
The Granite City Works Learning Center strives to better serve you. Therefore the Granite City Works Learning Center's hours of Operation will be revised as follows:
The new normal hours of operation are: 7am - 3pm - Monday - Friday. As always if you need to discuss anything outside of these hours call us to set up an appointment that will better meet your needs.

The new normal class hours will be:
Morning Classes will be held from 7:30am - 10:30am (Unless noted)
Afternoon Classes will be held from 3:30pm - 6:30pm (Unless noted)

| SYSTEM REPAIR HANDS-ON TRAINING OPPORTUNITY |
We are considering a hands on System Repair class that will be held at Ranken Technical College this spring. This class is for the Electricians who would be interested in becoming a System Repairman. In order to schedule the class we need to get an idea of the number of people who would be interested.
If you are interested please contact us and let us know so we can gauge the interest in this class. |

PRE-LEARNER PROGRAM
The online Pre Learner Training is now available!
This includes Mechanical, Electrical and Systems Repair.
You must call us or email us with your name, clock number, email address, a password you will remember and
which course you want to be enrolled in. |

ONLINE LEARING OPPORTUNITY!
In an effort to offer more opportunities for our members to learn at their convenience we are offering an enrollment in ITU. All courses are online and are covered by your ICD benefits.
There are courses in everything from brewing your own beer or making wine, accounting and book keeping to advanced computer courses like A+, Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) and much more.

LAID OFF STEELWORKS
Laid off Steelworkers, if you are interested in furthering your education, you may be entitled to up to two years of tuition assistance. The amount per year is $1800.00.
NEW TUITION ASSISTANCE OPPORTUNITY
To go along with changing times and realizing that people learn differently than they have in the past, the ICD has changed the policy that will allow active members to use Tuition Assistance funds for subscription-based online learning providers. This is for active USW members only. An example would be Rosetta Stone language learning.
